The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is intended to be one of many factors considered by academic institutions, government agencies, professional bodies, and employers when deciding whether a test taker can be admitted as a student, considered for employment, or considered for citizenship. IELTS is not intended to be the sole criterion for admission or employment for the test taker. IELTS is available to all people worldwide, regardless of age, gender, race, nationality, or religion, but it is not recommended for people under the age of 16.
